YMCA 8 Errol Street London EC1Y 8SE

Project Year: 2020 Project Duration: 2 Years Project Type: Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV

Project Description

Firelec have successfully completed the installation of the fire alarm, access
control and CCTV systems at the new YMCA Hotel in London with over 125 rooms. We installed two fully addressable 8 loop MxPro fire alarm systems located in a back of house area with a fully functional repeater panel on the Main entrance. The system is interfaced with the access control, Smoke vent system, Shutters. Vibrating pillows for DDA requirements, the emergency voice communication system, the lifts and various plant equipment. The cause and effect for this one took time to develop, with the engineers using the system to its full capacity.
A fully networked Paxton Net2 access control system was installed to over 70 doors which give staff control to grant or deny there residents/visitors and staff to certain areas of the building at restricted times. Access control was installed to keep residents, staff and visitors safe and secure. Paxton Net2 entry was installed at entrances calling a video handset on reception. Reception can see clearly who is calling with 2 way voice communication. The relevant door can be release via the handset.
The CCTV we installed on this project was a Uniview IP CCTV system. A total of 117 cameras were installed covering all general internal areas and all external perimeters. All cameras are vandal resistant and starlight. The CCTV can be monitored via a video wall installed located at reception, giving staff maximum viewing of the building at any given time. All infrastructure cabling goes back to a lockable secure comms cabinet where we connected all POE switches and the NVR server. The CCTV is connected to their network so they can remotely monitor the CCTV.
